Where Your Data Lives

When you add items to one of the Journal apps in ChatGPT, the items are saved on a server we control, using Vercel Blob, keyed by an anonymous identifier ChatGPT supplies for your account. The data survives across conversations on the same ChatGPT account, so when you ask "what's in my Kitchen Journal?" in a new chat days later, the items are still there.

We do not store the original photos you attach in chat. We do store: item names, your one-line evidence notes, app category, status, timestamps, and a public Wikipedia thumbnail URL chosen as a representative image. Full details are in the privacy policy.

View Your Data

Inside ChatGPT, while one of the apps is connected, ask:

• what's in my Kitchen Journal?
• show my Garden Journal
• list my Home Journal

The model calls our list_*_journal tool and returns your saved items.

Export Your Data

To take your data with you, ask:

• export my Kitchen Journal or Garden / Home

The model returns the full saved inventory as JSON in chat, including the anonymous subject identifier we use to look up your data. Save that JSON if you want a backup or want to refer to the subject identifier in a later request.

Delete Your Data

To remove a single item, ask:

• remove the kettle from my Kitchen Journal

To delete everything for an app, ask:

• delete my Kitchen Journal or Garden / Home

ChatGPT will confirm before doing so. On confirmation we move your inventory to a private archive for 30 days, then permanently purge it.

If You Cannot Use The Chat Path

For UK GDPR requests we cannot satisfy through the chat, including recovering data inside the 30-day archive window, or asking us to act on your behalf, email privacy@colorfactory.studio. We respond within 7 days; UK GDPR allows up to 1 month.

Please include the anonymous subject identifier from a recent export response. Without it we may not be able to identify which saved data belongs to you, because we deliberately do not link the identifier to your name or email.
